On Thursday, the WA Knights were crowned the West Central Activities Conference cross country team champions. Juanito Hernandez, a team captain and top runner, led a team where 5 runners placed in the top 20. Running a 17:30, he earned 1st place to become the individual conference champion and beat the second place runner by 36 seconds. This conference victory continued a very successful team season that has seen the Knights be ranked 10th in Class 1A in the state. 1st – Juanito Hernandez – 17:30
7th – Tim Audet – 18:24
12th – Jorge Gonzales – 18:51
18th – Nate Odell – 19:31
20th – Warren Krieg – 19:38
26th – Ruben Sanchez – 19:58
36th – Nate Contreras – 20:25

Team points are calculated by adding the place value of a team’s top 5 runners with the lowest score winning. In a true team event, the Knights scored 58 points in their victory.
